At the age of 12, he attained his Shodan (1st Dan) black belt. Four years later, at 16, he began training at the renowned Honbu Dojo under Sensei Keith Geyer.<\/p>\n<p>Johan achieved Protea Colours from 1994 to 1998. Furthermore, he established an incredible winning streak by clinching the South Africa championships for an impressive 11 consecutive years.<\/p>\n<p>Johan&#8217;s success extended to international competitions as well. In 2004, he secured a 3rd place in the World Shotocup, preceded by a notable 2nd place finish in 2000. His triumphs continued in 2005, where he emerged as the victor in the Open Men&#8217;s Kumite at the WKC World Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Johan assumes multiple responsibilities, leading the Honbu Dojo and overseeing the Early Bird training.
